How to Access the VNC Console for Your VPS/VDS

Learn how to open the VNC console for your Curt Creation VPS or VDS from the control panel — useful when you can't reach the server over the network.

Step 1: Navigate to the VNC Settings

  1. Log in to your Curt Creation Client Area at client.curtcreation.net.

  2. Under Your Active Products/Services, find your server (e.g., Singapore VDS - VDS-4) and click View Details.

  3. Scroll down to the Manage section and click the blue OPEN CONTROL PANEL button. The control panel opens in a new window.

  4. In the control panel, click the Options tab in the top tab bar. The VNC sub-tab is selected by default.

Step 2: Enable a VNC Session

[!NOTE]

VNC (Virtual Network Computing) lets you connect to your server's screen as if you were sitting in front of it. It is most useful when you cannot reach the server over the network — for example, during a fresh OS install, after a firewall misconfiguration, or when troubleshooting a boot issue.

  1. On the VNC sub-tab, click the Enable VNC Access button.

  2. After a few seconds, the page updates to show a blue banner confirming A VNC session is currently Active, an orange warning that the connection is unencrypted, and two new buttons: Disable VNC Access and Browser VNC.

Step 3: Open the Console

  1. Click the Browser VNC button. A new popup window opens with the noVNC viewer.

  2. You will see your server's display. If the server is running, you will see whatever is currently on screen (a desktop, a console prompt, an installer, or a lock screen). If the server is powered off, the viewer will be black — power it on from the Boot button above the VNC card.

  3. To send keystrokes your browser would normally intercept (like Ctrl+Alt+Del), open the noVNC toolbar using the small handle on the left edge of the viewer and click Show Extra Keys.

[!NOTE]

If your browser blocks the popup, look for the popup-blocked indicator in the address bar and allow popups for control.curtcreation.net, then click Browser VNC again.

Step 4: Disable VNC When You're Done

[!CAUTION]

VNC sessions run over an unencrypted connection. Anyone able to observe your network traffic could record what you do in the console. Always disable VNC as soon as you are finished — leaving it active is the equivalent of leaving a network-accessible monitor and keyboard plugged into your server.

  1. Return to the VNC sub-tab in the control panel (the same place you started).

  2. Click the Disable VNC Access button.

  3. The page returns to its original state, showing only the Enable VNC Access button.
