How to Set Up Anti-DDoS Protection on Your Game Server

Learn how to protect your game server from attacks by applying an anti-DDoS filter to your IP allocation from the IP Management page in the game panel.

A DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack floods your server with junk traffic to knock it offline. To defend against this, you can apply an anti-DDoS filter to your server's IP allocation. A filter preset is a ready-made profile, tuned for a specific game and protocol, that screens incoming traffic and lets the legitimate players through.

[!NOTE] First you must learn how to access our game hosting panel: https://curtcreation.net/kb/game-hosting-panel/how-to-access-your-game-server

Step 1: Open the IP Management Page

  1. In your server's left sidebar, under CONFIGURATION, click IP Management.

  2. The summary cards at the top show your protection status at a glance: Allocations, Protected, Active filters, and Allowed presets. A fresh server reads 0 filters active and 0 of 1 protected.

Step 2: Apply a Filter to Your Allocation

  1. Scroll to the Per-allocation filters section. Each allocation (your server's IP address and port, e.g., 203.0.113.45:25578) is listed here, with your main one tagged PRIMARY.

  2. If it reads No filter applied, your server isn't protected yet.

  3. Click + APPLY next to the allocation you want to protect.

Step 3: Choose an Anti-DDoS Preset and Apply It

  1. In the Apply anti-DDoS filter dialog, open the PRESET dropdown.

  2. Select the preset that matches your server — for example, Minecraft Java (TCP) for a Java Edition server.

  3. Click APPLY FILTER. (Click CANCEL to back out without changes.)

[!NOTE] Pick the preset that matches your game and connection type. Java Edition uses TCP, while Bedrock Edition uses UDP. Applying a preset that doesn't match your server can block legitimate players from connecting.

That's it — your allocation is now protected. Back on the IP Management page, Active filters and Protected will update to show the filter is live. You can return here anytime to change the preset or remove the filter.
